According to Wikipedia:
A supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) also known as paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) is a rapid rhythm of the heart in which the origin of the heart beat is either in the atria or an electrical loop involving the AV node. This is in contrast to the potentially deadlier ventricular tachycardias, which are rapid rhythms that originate from the ventricles of the heart, that is, below the atria or AV node.
